Desano in Brazilian Amazon is threatened by language shift toward Tukano and Portugese. An initiative of Desano speakers developed educational material in order to make sure their language is passed on to the next generation. The sponsorship is meant to help with the printing of 120 text books for adults and children from villages around the rivers of Papuri and Tiquié.
