Dr. Dubi Nanda Dhakal has devised this project to support one of the many endangered languages of Nepal by creating a community-based dictionary. Raute (glottocode: raut1240) is a Tibeto-Burman language spoken by approx. 400 people, many of whom live nomadically in the provinces of Karnali and Sudurpaschim in the west of Nepal; it is classified as threatened (AES Glottoscope).
