This project is part of a larger initiative to promote reading in Zapotec (Mexico) and raise awareness of environmental issues. Oliver Frohling, in cooperation with the Municipality of Santa María Guenaguati SURCO (Servicios Universitarios Y redes de Conocimientos en Oaxaca AC), is creating comic books in the Dadi’idznu variety of Zapotec (glottocode: guev1238), based on interviews with community elders about environmental changes in the region.
